He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
Dear CrossRoads Family,
“He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!”
Most of us at CrossRoads are pretty familiar with this phrase, which was a greeting in the early church, and beautifully summarizes the truth we celebrate - the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Much of the world, however, does not acknowledge this truth. Recently, well-known atheist Richard Dawkins said, “Accounts of Jesus’ resurrection and ascension are about as well-documented as ‘Jack and the Beanstalk.’”
However, Dr. Sam Lamerson of Knox Theological Seminary says, “There is no ancient historical event that is more certainly testified to both by number of witnesses and by evidence than the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
We who have been saved by the blood of Jesus Christ are today’s witnesses to the truth, which we’re going to celebrate this weekend!
HERE'S THE SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR THIS SUNDAY, RESURRECTION (EASTER) SUNDAY:
- 6:30 a.m. SUNRISE SERVICE on the church property. We’ll have a re-enactment of the women finding the empty tomb and Mary Magdalene encountering the risen Christ! Of course we’ll also have a wonderful time of praise and worship as we witness a beautiful sunrise! Dress warmly, bring a lawn chair, and invite a friend.
- 10:30 a.m. CELEBRATION SERVICE at C. Milton Wright. We’ll finish our “Portraits of the Passion” series with testimonies from Mary Magdalene and the Roman Centurion, plus we’ll celebrate the Lord’s Supper and have an inspiring time of worship. Be sure and invite a friend!
I know you’ll make every effort to attend one or both of these services! And please be praying for those who will come who don’t regularly attend.
See you Sunday! He is Risen Indeed!
