Annual Church Picnic and Baptism Service

Posted by bbullis on September 13, 2014

Dear CrossRoads Family,

What a great Sunday we have ahead of us! During the morning worship service at 10:30 we'll be continuing our study entitled "Let's Go…Pointing People to Faith," and also celebrating the Lord's Supper together!

Then, on Sunday afternoon, from 4-7 p.m. (don't worry, the Ravens have already played), we'll be having our ANNUAL CHURCH PICNIC AND BAPTISM SERVICE on the new property! We call this event "CrossRoads Connecting" because it's a great way to get to know folks and share in fun and fellowship.

We'll start at 4 p.m. with the baptism, then eat together, then share in some games, and finally we'll take a prayer walk around the new driveway and pray for those folks who will be coming onto our property one day….particularly for this season's Living Nativity!

Here are some things you need to know:
1. Please bring a dish according to the first letter of your last name: A-D, Side Dish; E-N, Dessert; O-Z, Main Dish
2. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket
3. Please bring a favorite yard game if you have one: like corn hole or ladder toss.
4. And don't forget, PLEASE BRING A FRIEND!

We'll have a Moon Bounce for the kids, and the Praise Team will be playing some songs. What a day it's going to be!!

Of course the highlight to the whole event is the baptism service, where we celebrate with folks who have decided to trust Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and now want to show the world their changed lives and love for Him by being baptized!

If you feel God is calling you to be baptized, there will be a meeting immediately following the morning worship service to go over all of the details (or, you can email me if you'd prefer).

Well, that's it for now! See you Sunday!

Blessings,

Bob

Easter Weekend

Posted by bbullis on April 17, 2014

As we approach this Easter weekend and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, I just want to be sure you know about the events we have planned.
I know I don't have to remind you, but this is a perfect time to invite someone to come with you…because they're probably already thinking about it!

1.  Good Friday Service - we have been invited to a Good Friday Service by Real Life Community Church and Harford Community Church (we had a community picnic with these churches last summer), TOMORROW (FRIDAY) EVENING, from 7:30-8:30 p.m.  The service is at The Highlands School, 2409 Creswell Road (Rte. 543), Bel Air, 21015.
2.  Easter Sunrise Service- on our church property, 2610 Calvary Road (Rte. 136), Bel Air, from 6:00 to 6:45 a.m.  This is a great way to start the day and honor God at first light, and it has been a wonderful experience the past two years.  Dress warmly and bring a lawn chair!
3.  Easter Sunday Service - at C. Milton Wright HS, at 10:30 a.m.  Come prepared to worship our Risen Savior and welcome those who are visiting and seeking Him!

In light of all of the celebrations, I pray that we would live according to the words of the Apostle Paul to the Romans: that we would be united together "in the likeness of His resurrection,…presenting ourselves to God as being alive from the dead."  Romans 6: 5,13

HE IS RISEN…HE IS RISEN INDEED!

Palm Sunday

Posted by bbullis on April 12, 2014

What a beautiful day to celebrate life (and clean up the yard!).  As the Psalmist says, "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24).

As you're busy going about your springtime activities after a long winter, I hope you're also making plans to make it to worship tomorrow, which is Palm Sunday.  We'll be celebrating the sacrifice Jesus made for us by singing His praises, sharing in the Lord's Supper, and hearing from His Word with part 2 of the series, "JesusCare..the Prescription for Spiritual Health."

Maybe it's been a long winter for you spiritually.  If that's the case, then now's the time to rejoice in the warmth of His love again!  I hope to see you there.

Blessings,

Bob
