The beginning a new year is an appropriate time to make a “new start,” which for many means a focus on our physical health and making good choices for healthier bodies. But for Christians it should also be a time to focus on our spiritual health, deepening our walk with God and living more closely aligned with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In that light, we as a church are engaging in a week of prayer and fasting, with the goal of “returning to the Lord with all our hearts.” (Joel 2:12)
