Revelation 5:8-10
The Prayers of the Saints

With just four short weeks until Easter, we want to take the time to refocus our attention on our relationship with Jesus Christ; to deepen our love for Him and more fully appreciate His death, burial, and resurrection.

We will deal with four disciplines that mark the Christian life – Prayer, Fasting, Giving, and Forgiving.

Prayer is foundationally our communication with God.  As Richard Foster states, “Prayer is the central avenue God uses to transform us.  In prayer, real prayer, we begin to think God’s thoughts after Him: to desire the things He desires, to love the things He loves.  Progressively we are taught to see things from His point of view.”

Today we’ll take the point of view from the book of Revelation, which tells us our prayers end up as incense in the golden bowls in the arms of the elders around God’s throne.
